We are happy to announce that we are launching our very first bag in box in Finland! Quinta Do Gradil’s Red Blend 2014 is a full-bodied, tannic wine with notes of dark cherry, blackberry, and ripe plum. The wine is made up of 50 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 50 % Touriga Nacional. The vineyard Quinto do Gradil dates back to the 18th century, and is one of the oldest estates in the Lisbon wine region in Portugal. The vineyard has has 120 hectares of vineyards with a large diversity of grape varieties. For this particular blend, they have selected the two top varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon – famous worldwide for numerous famous wines, and Touriga Nacional – the most known Portuguese red grape. In the western foothills of the Serra de Montejunto there are mainly clay and limestone soils. This combined with the microclimate is what makes the growing conditions of the grapes optimal and in turn makes the wines from this region so special. This red blend by Quinto do Gradil can either be enjoyed straight away, or be kept for about two years. We would suggest you to drink it with beef, game, lamb or why not combine the three and make a delicious mixed grill?
